China’s Bearing Industry Accelerates Upgrading in 2026 With Breakthroughs in Industry-University Research, Intelligence

SKF has partnered with optical fiber sensing enterprise Sentea to develop the brand-new SKF Core hardware platform and upgrade the new-generation intelligent bearing monitoring technology. Capable of collecting real-time equipment operation data and predicting wear and potential faults in advance, the optimized solutions will be unveiled at Germany’s AMB International Machine Tool Exhibition, boosting the intelligent operation and maintenance of high-end equipment.
Leading enterprises are deeply exploring high-end segmented markets. Timken has reached a three-year strategic cooperation with Xianhe Co., Ltd. to develop customized transmission bearing solutions for harsh working conditions in the papermaking industry. SKF has also cooperated with GreenHarmonic to develop high-precision joint bearings for humanoid robots, filling the gap in domestic core components. Meanwhile, the localization and standardization of China’s bearing industry have steadily advanced. Technological breakthroughs have been achieved in wind power main shaft bearings and high-end bearing steel. Local manufacturers are accelerating digital and intelligent production line renovation, steadily improving product accuracy and yield rates.
Industry analysts pointed out that as a core basic component of equipment manufacturing, bearings witness growing demand for localization and high-end upgrading.
